Muscliff care home in Bournemouth has introduced an innovative acoustic patient monitoring system that uses AI, sound and motion-based technology to boost residents’ safety and wellbeing.
The Ally acoustic monitoring system will ensure the care home’s residents receive immediate assistance when alone in their rooms. It comprises a small monitoring unit in each room to alert staff when residents call for help, are awake or unusually restless and uncomfortable.
The Wi-Fi connected sensor detects changes in sounds during the night and instantly alerts staff via their handheld device. This will provide an important additional safety system that can be used to extend the time between regular checks, so staff can avoid disturbing or waking up residents during the night.
The system is proven to reduce the likelihood of falls, help identify changes in residents’ condition, ensure assistance when residents can’t reach their nurse call system and improve their quality of sleep.
