We were delighted to welcome the parents of our CEO, Dr Vishen Ramkisson, at our North London care homes during their recent visit to the UK.
Dr & Mrs Ramkisson live in South Africa and during their stay in the UK they not only spent time with their own family but with our AgeCare families too. They participated in bingo and other activities along with our residents and enjoyed a really tasty Friday fish & chips lunch as well.
We are so proud that our homes are warm and inviting with outstanding catering and engaging activities, so much so that our CEO is proud to share these experiences with his own family.
Leading by example, Dr Vishen gauges the decisions and strategies he puts in place against his own personal barometer: would be good enough for his own parents, would his own parents enjoy a particular meal or activity? This guides his decision making across the group as a whole.
Making it very much a family affair, Dr Vishen’s 12-year-old son, also visited our homes Woodbury Manor, Five Oaks and Bullsmoor Lodge, participating in his first volunteering activity by helping Activities Lead Jeva with the bingo sessions. He then brightened up the day for so many of our residents by assisting with the lunch service, serving up fish & chips with a huge smile.
Having three generations of Ramkisson’s at the same time positively impacting the level of care we offer by engaging with residents, their family members, our dedicated staff and our wider teams was so rewarding for everyone.
Thank you to everyone for their time and warm welcome.
Dr Vishen commented: I feel very privileged to be the CEO of such a wonderful organisation like AgeCare Care Homes, it was a pleasure to see my parents interacting with staff and residents. My son benefitted greatly from his day at the homes and I sincerely hope that all children are inspired to find a role for themselves in society that positively impacts the lives of others.
