Minchenden Lodge Care Home is situated on a leafy residential street in Southgate, North London. It sits on the site of the original Minchenden House, a country estate which became part of the Brydges estate in 1753, belonging to the Marquess of Carnarvon, later the Earl of Chandos.

The house was demolished in the mid 1800s, but materials were used to construct the current Minchenden Lodge, which became a care home in 1973. The estate is also remembered in the Minchenden Oak Garden close to our home, which features the Minchenden Oak, an 800-year-old tree that is one of the oldest in London.

It is connected to central London, a journey of 30 minutes, via Southgate Circus tube station on the Piccadilly Line. Southgate is a suburban area of North London with good transport connections, and plenty of green spaces. It has a rich architectural heritage.

Minchenden Lodge is registered for 25 residents and was awarded an “Outstanding” rating from the CQC in October 2019, the latest report is available under the CQC section of this page.
