Dr Vishen Ramkisson is a well-respected Senior Medical Leader who has relevant experience across several national roles across the NHS leading complex NHS Programmes of IT at NHS Digital, and Urgent Care Programmes at NHS England since 2010. He has overseen the transformation of primary care and urgent care services across Hertfordshire and West Essex. Dr Ramkisson has clinically led and developed key national services including the Electronic Prescribing Service (EPS), the NHS e-Referral Service (eRS) and the Data Platform for the Covid 19 Vaccine Service during the pandemic for which he has received recognition and numerous awards.
Dr Ramkisson has an interest in technology augmenting and improving resident care; as well as assisting care providers to make appropriate decisions. He is working on several initiatives transforming the provision of high-quality care home services in the UK developing staff recognition and quality improvement programmes, implementing digitisation initiatives to become truly paper free as well as monitoring systems to safeguard residents in care homes as technology Is further adopted in society.
As well remaining true to his roots as a practising NHS GP, Dr Ramkisson has also completed an MBA in 2013, and in 2017 was awarded Founding Fellowship of the Faculty of Clinical Informatics. Dr Ramkisson is also a Principle Clinical Consultant and Clinical Advisory Board Member at BT Health.
When not at work, Dr Ramkisson enjoys spending time with this family and is a keen fan of F1 racing, Springbok rugby as well as playing cricket for the Lion Herts CC.
