The splendid gardens at Millway House care home in Andover provided the perfect setting for a recent tea party for residents, staff and guests to celebrate the home’s newly awarded Veteran Friendly Framework (VFF) accreditation.
Bathed in summer sunshine, this special afternoon was dedicated to honouring and supporting the Armed Forces veterans living at Millway House. Guests included members of the Millway House Veterans’ Breakfast Club, serving and retired military personnel from Army HQ, serving personnel from 26 Engineer Regiment at Perham Down and the Test Valley Veterans’ Champion, Councillor Ian Jeffrey.
Entertainment was provided by the Garston Gallopers, whose lively Morris dancing had everyone smiling, with a little help from some of the guests who joined in the fun.
After everyone had enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea, 26 Engineer Regiment RSM Hammie Brown and Councillor Ian Jeffrey proudly unveiled Millway House’s VFF accreditation plaque, a symbol of the care home’s ongoing commitment to supporting the veteran community.
Claire Lousteau, Care Home Manager at Millway House, said: “We are so proud of this achievement. We’re also excited about the many plans we have in store for future events and collaborations with our new friends and partners.
“This is just the beginning of our journey to continue making Millway House a welcoming and supportive home for our veterans.”
Millway House is one of nine AgeCare Care Homes, all of which are undergoing VFF accreditation this year.
